New R&D project: Development of novel therapeutic strategies against microbial biofilms
Sunday March 15th, 2015
RECOMBINA is participating in a collaborative project supported by the spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. The project Innoeco, approved in the Retos-Colaboración 2015 call, is aimed at the development of novel strategies that, in combination with antibiotics, might be used for treating biofilm-associated nosocomial infections.
During the next three years, RECOMBINA will generate novel screening systems that will be used to analyze a collection of marine molecules. The final goal of the present project is to identify and characterize inhibitors of biofilm-specific targets in Staphylococcus aureus.
